On 5 May 2023, WHO declared the end of the state of international health emergency that began on 30 January 2020.
We always carefully follow all the indications of the Swiss authorities (Federal, Cantonal and Municipal). We have learned a lot from this pandemic and of course we continue to maintain a very high standard of hygienic cleanliness with each change of guest. We have re-establish the use of air conditioners where monthly cleaning and annual sanitization is carried out. Below are the procedures applied and the techniques used in our structure (1912 rooms Locarno) for all the rooms that are rented out on Booking and Airbnb. In case there is a need to follow the introduction of new limitations and restrictions, we are able to develop and implement a detailed protection plan.

1) Prevention of cross contamination
For cleaning, always respect the colors of the microfibre cloths:
blue: general cleaning of the room (surfaces, furniture, glass)
yellow: cleaning sanitary surfaces (bathroom, shower, sink, tiles)
red: toilet cleaning
green: cleaning surfaces in the kitchen
2) Air conditioners
The internal air conditioning systems are dismantled and sanitized every year with specific and suitable products including drain pans, fittings and drain pipes. The filters are washed and disinfected every month with an ethanol-containing surface disinfectant.
3) High touch areas
All taps and fittings (sinks, mixers, faucets, shower heads, toilet buttons, etc.), keys, door and window handles, light switches, remote control, drawer knobs are cleaned and disinfected individually every time guests leave the room. This practice is strictly enforced.
4) Floors
All the floors in the bedrooms, the bathroom and the kitchen are cleaned with wet gauze, replacing the gauze in each room: the gauze is collected with a dustpan and brush and therefore without any direct contact. Subsequently, all floors are washed with a microfiber mop, cold water with a disinfectant product diluted in the right proportions. In transit areas (entrance, corridor, stairs) we use a vacuum cleaner with triple efficiency Miele AirClean filtration system. Subsequently, the floors are washed with a microfiber mop, cold water and a disinfectant product diluted in the right proportions.
5) Products used
The professional products used for cleaning may vary (brand and supplier).
6) Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Cleaning is always done using disposable nitrile gloves (powder-free, latex-free) which are changed at each change of environment. During the dilution (pure product in water) if the pH is outside the value 7, goggles are used.
7) Water and product temperature
All the products used (ready to use or diluted) are at room temperature.
8) Concept of work
The works are carried out following the scheme called "Sinner's circle".
9) Treatment of linen
All the linen collected is washed at 60 degrees using ecological products that respect the natural pH of the skin. Drying is done in the open air and in winter using a dryer. Folding and ironing are performed following the criteria of the Hotel industry.
10) Kitchen and accessories
The extractor hood filter is checked monthly. If there are traces of grease, the filter is replaced. All cutlery, glasses, dishes and utensils are washed in the dishwasher and stored with gloves.
11) Aeration
All rooms are always aired for a long time.
12) Legionella
We carry out regular self-checks of the hot and cold water temperatures in all showers and sinks, following the indications of the Cantonal Laboratory for the prevention of legionella.
