Midwest Project

Step One

You will work on finding nonfiction articles to help you construct your own book about the Midwest.

Use the research sites below to help you find different articles about each concept. You need to find 2-3 articles/resources.

Once you find an article, copy the link to your source in an Office 365 document and write why this article will help you to write about the topic that you chose.

Research Sites:

It is important to use reliable research sites in this project, why?

**You may also use your textbook and any notes we've taken.

Step Two

Use the research that you gathered to write at least 1 paragraph (5-6 sentences) for each part of our standard.

          • Locating the Midwest region on a map and identifying key political features (i.e. capitals).
          • Explaining the physical and climate characteristics of the Midwest region.
          • Analyzing the natural resources and economic activity of the Midwest region.
          • Describing the population of the Midwest including: early settlements, historically significant events and places, and cultural characteristics.
          • Examining life in the Midwest today by focusing on significant features and representative landmarks

Please make sure that you have created an Office 365 document that is Titled, "NAME Midwest Project".

When you are finished, you need to save you word document to your computer and then submit it to the assignment titled "Midwest Project Reseach" on Edmodo.
