CROWNED WITH PURPOSE
CROWNED WITH PURPOSE
A glimpse into the 40-day journey of discovering your identity, authority, and calling in Christ.
PART ONE: THE TRIPLE CROWN
Day 1
Christ: The Fullness of God’s Revelation
Read: Hebrews 1:1–14
“…but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.” —Hebrews 1:2
Have you ever lost cell service or had the Wi-Fi drop just when you needed it most? It’s frustrating, especially when you’re trying to hear something important. The problem usually isn’t with the signal; It’s with our reception.
The same is true with God. His signal has never been clearer than in Jesus Christ.
Lots of voices compete for your attention. Ads promise happiness, influencers sell meaning, while traditions and family expectations shape our thinking. But only one voice has the power to reveal truth, cleanse guilt, and crown your life with purpose.
That voice is Jesus, the full and final Word of God .
I remember when I first surrendered my life to Christ at 19. I had grown up in New York, learning how to “mean mug” anyone I passed, eyes hard, face set. It wasn’t about aggression. It was about survival. That’s what I was taught: Stay alert, look tough, don’t let anyone think you’re weak.
But that street training clashed with Jesus’ words in Matthew: “You are the light of the world.” My attitude conflicted with Christ’s command to love your enemies and welcome the stranger. I learned to trust God, walk by faith, and allow the Spirit to reshape my posture in the world. By the Spirit, self-control replaced looking tough and trying to intimidate strangers.
Later, the Word challenged my belief about family. Biblically, your spouse takes priority over your family of origin. But I was raised to believe that Mom comes first, even after I got married. This belief was passed down over generations. By faith, I followed God’s Word and prioritized my wife, even if it meant offending family and traditions. Yes, I loved my mother, and we serve our families to the best of our abilities. However, the marriage takes priority.
We all have postures or traditions about strength, family, or success that don’t line up with Jesus’ teachings. That is where the Prophetic Word of Christ confronts us.
Those pivotal moments didn’t just require information; they required transformation. And Jesus, the living Word, is the one who did it. His voice healed my ignorance, confronted my loyalties, and gave me a new foundation. That’s what Hebrews 1 declares:
In the past, God spoke through the prophets. But now, He has spoken and continues to speak through His Son.
In the past, God used others to bring the message, but Jesus is God’s message made flesh.
Jesus is the King who rules over all, the Prophet who makes God known to us, and the Priest who makes peace with God.
And the good news? You can wake up each day with purpose because the King of the Universe is calling your name. You are a Royal Ambassador, crowned with purpose to represent Christ’s Kingdom wherever you go.
Our Lord is still speaking. He speaks through Scripture, the Holy Spirit, and the Church. The only question is: Are you listening? The signal is strong. The line is open. You just have to tune in.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
You sent your Son to be the final prophetic Word and reveal your grace and truth for me.
By the power of the Holy Spirit, help me to hear and answer the call to life change. Free me from all ignorance and let your Word shape my thoughts, desires, and decisions.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Reflect & Respond
In your life, what other voices (social media, self-help books, family, culture) receive more attention than the Word of Christ?
Write down one area of your life where you need to hear from Jesus. Then pause to pray, listen, and expect Him to speak through Scripture, the Spirit, or even in your conversations this week.
Study
John 1:14-18 – The Word became flesh
Hebrews 10:12–14 – One sacrifice for all time
Colossians 1:15–20 – Christ the image of God and head of all things
