What do we offer?
The Special Operations Aviation Regiment provides a wide range of skills and talents. These include parachuting, rappelling, operating the rotary craft, becoming a tactical medic, functioning as ground crew, and many more activities. SOAR may present possibilities for you to be a member of a team, lead, host, acquire new skills, and be a part of a fantastic community. SOAR presently offers two courses/schools to become an official member and an optional course for extra qualifications.
FLIGHT SCHOOL:
Flight school is a demanding pilot training course. This school has graduated all the pilots raised in SOAR. You go through four tough phases that put your skills as a pilot to the test. All of these phases are based on the Blizzard system. You may see dog fighting, manoeuvre evaluation, and other activities. You must have substantial prior experience with the Blizzard system before attempting this.
KRONOS QUALIFICATION PROGRAM:
The Kronos Qualification Course is the assessment that one must complete in order to be authorised to fly on our very own Fort Jackson. The course may not be as hard as Flight School, but transitioning from Blizzard to Kronos may be difficult. This course might be challenging, depending on whether you like Kronos or Blizzard. On the plus side, if you complete this programme, you will be able to fly to Fort Jackson.
SPECIAL OPERATIONS CREWMEN SCHOOL:
The SOCS is one of our less complicated programmes. If you have trouble flying Blizzard, you could try this one. This opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Crewmen School puts your skills as a rifleman, ground crew, tactical medic, and so much more to the test. This is another of our more hands-on courses. There are more spots available in this course as it encourages a variety of members with different skills.
