This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) outlines the core behavioral standards, code of conduct, and professionalism required of all Officer and Enlisted personnel within the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Adherence to these guidelines ensures a tactical, immersive, and respectful environment across all servers, communications channels, and operations.
Discipline & Chain of Command: All members must respect and adhere to the military chain of command. Direct orders from superiors must be followed during official operations and training events.
Integrity & Sportsmanship: Members represent the 13th MEU brand. Toxic behavior, harassment, discrimination, or unsportsmanlike conduct toward community members or external groups will not be tolerated.
Immersion & Realism: While participating in tactical operations, maintain operational discipline. Keep out-of-character (OOC) chatter to designated channels and maintain situational awareness.
Conflict Resolution: Disagreements between personnel must be handled maturely. Grievances should be brought up through the chain of command or via official administrative ticket systems rather than public argument.
Radio Discipline (In-Game / Tactical):
Keep tactical comms clear, concise, and relevant to the objective (e.g., using proper brevity and callsigns).
Chatter on primary command and tactical frequencies must remain strictly professional and mission-focused.
Text & Voice Channels (Discord / Comms):
Offensive slurs, hate speech, excessive toxicity, and targeted harassment are strictly prohibited in all public and private channels.
Constructive criticism is welcome; however, personal attacks, demeaning language, or bullying of junior or senior members will result in disciplinary action.
Officers hold a position of leadership and are held to a higher standard of accountability:
Exemplify Leadership: Lead by example through punctuality, tactical competence, and calm demeanor under pressure.
Fair & Impartial Enforcement: Enforce rules and SOPs objectively, avoiding favoritism or abuse of administrative power.
Mentorship: Actively guide and train enlisted personnel, fostering a welcoming environment for newer members looking to learn military simulation mechanics.
Accountability: Officers are responsible for the morale, organization, and discipline within their respective units and billets.
Enlisted personnel form the backbone of the unit's tactical operations:
Responsiveness: Listen attentively during briefings, follow subordinate leadership directives, and master individual unit roles.
Continuous Improvement: Seek feedback from Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) and Officers to improve tactical proficiency and teamwork.
Respect for Rank: Address superiors properly and respect the structure that keeps operations running smoothly.
Failure to uphold this SOP may result in progressive disciplinary measures depending on the severity of the infraction:
Formal Verbal Warning: Issued by an NCO or Officer for minor infractions or lapses in communication.
Official Written Warning / Demotion: Documented strike for repeated offenses or unprofessional conduct.
Suspension or Discharge: Removal from the unit for severe toxicity, insubordination, or breach of community guidelines.
