Welcome to Day 5 of Class, this will be a scroll and stroll lesson so be sure to take each step as it goes, first up --
Watch our Intro to Brown v Board Lesson video, this will go through the basics of our day and make sure you understand where to go for the lesson!
Post to Padlet -- the instructions are included in the Padlet your link is to the left.
You will be analyzing for information and for understanding four sources. We are going to use and analyze sheet listed below four times, one for each source. You will download your own copy to do this!
Once you have all four of your analyze sheets done, practice combining your sheets into one pdf, you can do that with the help of this site-- Merge PDFs online for free | Adobe Acrobat -- with these documents in mind and in use you are going to make either a brain map or a graphic that involves the information you just found.
You will be fulfilling this objective--
I will be able to identify 2 reasons that lead to brown v board of education, 2 aspects of brown v board of education that are most important, and 2 ramifications at large of the decisions made through a close read of sources and group or individual construction of a story map.
Once you feel you have fulfilled these items you can turn them in to me via email, here at brynadnersen98@gmail.com. I will be evaluating your graphic based on the rubric at the bottom of the page.
As always remember that we are working towards this at the end of unit in few weeks.
ARGUMENT: How has the United States failed to realize the promises made in the civil/voting rights acts, laws, and court decisions of the past in the present day? Create a poster that addresses the compelling question using two events from the unit with relevant evidence from sources while acknowledging competing views from our Socratic Seminar.
P.S. There are small discrepancies in this video because it is made for both of us in class and online sections disregard what you do not understand it won't affect your plans today.
