Windows Photo Viewer isn't part of Windows 10, but if you upgraded from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, you might still have it. To check, press and hold (or right-click) a photo in File Explorer, and select Open with. If Windows Photo Viewer isn't in the list, you cannot install it on Windows 10.

Click on a photo to show the buttons at the top, including Zoom, Delete, Rotate, Edit & Create, Share, and Print. Press and hold (or right-click) for more commands, such as File info, Save as, Copy, and Set as.

Nothing will actually open .afphoto, .afdesign, or .afpub files except the Affinity products. However, Affinity will embed a thumbnail preview that some other programs can show, if enabled in the Affinity Preferences.

In Settings>General>General Tab Make sure the first option, show all graphic formats is checked. Then go to File list>Custom Filter and make sure the row that says Exclude has everything UNCHECKED. Hope this helps. You should be seeing thumbnail previews for afdesign and afphoto files..if not, check in AD and AP to make sure you have the setting enabled to include thumbnails with your files.

It isn't strictly necessary to do that. It can be useful to limit the visibility of some file types, particularly those XNViewMP can't display much if any info about. The important thing is not to include any Affinity native file format extensions in the Extensions column (which is editable). So just make sure afphoto & afdesign are not included in that column & together with the General > Show all graphics formats option, you should be good to go.

Hello,

After switching to a new laptop, (Dell XPS 15), using my same old monitor (Dell as well), I spotted some really bad colour differences between Photoshop and Windows 10 Photo Viewer

Some of the things that I've already tried & observed:

1. I did look a lot into colour management. I bought the Windows 10 Colour Managed version and exactly the same result.

2. I tried using Paint & Paint 3d for opening up the image & potential editing, same colour issue was present.

3. I did NOT change any of the settings that the photoshop comes with. I also tried to reinstall & delete the settings file of photoshop.

4. My exported versions are all in sRGB. I also tried swithing to other profiles and exporting as sRGB, without any effect.

5. The only way I managed to get it working is by changing the Proof Setup to Monitor RGB, but I don't have any idea why, after a short period of time(a few hours) this fix was not working anymore.

Tried the solutions from this post with no result. Proof setup was the only way and it now doesn't work again.

I would be deeply appreciative if someone would help out!

The white border is now better exposed and I can see what files need editing. A black background also makes your regular pictures (not many people are looking at maps in Windows Photo Viewer) pop out. It gives you better view of the picture and makes it easier for you to decide which ones to keep and which ones not to keep, in case you are culling photos inside Windows Photo Viewer. Some users might find that a grey background is a better choice, it's kind of the mid option between white and black.

after some google search i bump into -> -classic-windows-photo-viewer-in-server-2016/ which works well except group policy is on computer level and might not work for everyone and most importantly hinders further customization.

I have a photo that shows mostly black colors. I edited it in PS, assigned the sRGB profile and saved it as JPG. It looks great within Lr, PS and through any browser but I tried 10 different apps for Windows 10 and the black are so black that there is barely any detail visible. Is there a color-managed photo viewer for Windows 10?

I test for color managed viewers by opening a file in Photoshop and converting it to have a version in each of sRGB, Adobe RGB and ProPhoto. Save each image. If you use a viewer to cycle through the three images they should look identical in a color managed program. But look decidedly different in a non-color managed viewer. (This smokes out the non-color managed slideshow mode in Windows Photo Viewer.)

With that if you want a color managed photo viewer, you'll need to look third party like Adobe Photoshop, LR, Bridge, ACDsee or any other photo editing program with the capability of being color managed. These (color managed photo viewers) are not included in Windows 10.

And if you edited your files in Photoshop and want to view them in a color managed environment, why not use Adobe Bridge? It actually is a very powerful "photo viewer"; as well as photo manager, and editor.

Lomography's LomoChrome '92 is designed to mimic the look of classic drugstore film that used to fill family photo albums. As we discovered, to shoot with it is to embrace the unexpected, from strange color shifts to odd textures and oversized grain.

The LowePro PhotoSport Outdoor is a camera pack for photographers who also need a well-designed daypack for hiking and other outdoor use. If that sounds like you, the PhotoSport Outdoor may be a great choice, but as with any hybrid product, there are a few tradeoffs.

If you want a compact camera that produces great quality photos without the hassle of changing lenses, there are plenty of choices available for every budget. Read on to find out which portable enthusiast compacts are our favorites.

I would like just a couple small features. If i open that image inside a directory, i want to be able to use the arrows on the keyboard to navigate through the images, and need a zoom feature. other than that, i dont want albums, photo editing, or anything else bulky. i can edit my photos with photoshop cs5. i just need a viewer for arch.

thanks, the gpicviewer works good, its nice and lightweight. the only problem im having with it so far, is i cant scroll through the images, once i open one, using the cursor keys, nor the mouse on the arrows in the image viewers GUI. what can i do about this? i would like to be able to open an album directory, and open the first image, then scroll through the rest.

If you have photos or videos in a Picasa Web Album, the easiest way to still access, modify and share most of that content is to log in to Google Photos. Your photos and videos will already be there.

For those who have already downloaded it, it will continue to work as it does today. But we will not be developing it further, and there will be no future updates.

If you choose to switch to Google Photos, you can continue to upload photos and videos using the desktop uploader at photos.google.com/apps.

The King County Interactive Mapping Tool (iMap) can show you what the landscape looked like during past flood conditions. These photos are one source of information to show areas that will likely flood again in the future.

1976, 1978

In 1976 black-and-white oblique air photos were taken by Wisconsin DNR as part of a major shoreline erosion project. They covered the Lake Michigan shoreline from Sturgeon Bay Canal south to the Illinois state line and the Wisconsin part of the Lake Superior shoreline. Additional photos were taken in 1978 in parts of Iron, Ashland and Bayfield counties on Lake Superior as well as around the entirety of Madeline Island. The 1976 and 1978 photographs were geo-located by identifying features that could be seen in the oblique views, with Microsoft Virtual Earth and, if necessary, the 2007 and 2008 oblique photos.

2007, 2008

In spring 2007, David Mickelson and L.J. Maher, with Ben Abernathy and Alan Carroll as pilots, took oblique digital photos along the Lake Superior shoreline and the Lake Michigan shoreline from Sturgeon Bay Canal to the Illinois state line. Additional photos were taken on Lake Michigan in 2008 to the north of Sturgeon Bay, around the point of Door County and down along the east and west shorelines of Green Bay. The 2007 photographs were geolocated using software called GPS -- Photo Link (Geospatial Experts).

2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021

Since 2017, Dave Mickelson and the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program (WCMP) has partnered with Capt. Dennis Carr, Wisconsin Wing, Civil Air Patrol to take shoreline oblique photos with pilots Lt. Col. Jeff Thompson and Capt. Joe Williams, Wisconsin Wing, Civil Air Patrol.

Methods

Bluff recession distances were measured from historical aerial photos in Geographic Information System (GIS) software for two analysis periods: 1956-2015 and 1995-2015. Using GIS software, photos from each year are georeferenced to position them accurately in space and orthorectified to remove vertical distortions caused by the camera lens. The bluff crest, bluff toe, and shoreline are carefully traced on each photo. The bluff crest is identified as the break in slope between the upland and the bluff slope, the bluff toe is identified as the break in slope between the bluff slope and beach, and the shoreline is defined as the location that appears as the interface between the water and the land at the time the photo was acquired. Differences in soil color, vegetation or other indicators are used to distinguish the features on each photo. Once each feature is digitized, the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) software is used to measure the location of each digitized feature along transect lines spaced at 10-meter intervals along the shoreline. The data presented here shows recession data which have been spatially averaged along 300-foot sections of coast. The data shown on this data viewer therefore represents average recession over a distance wider than a typical single lot, parcel, or shoreline frontage, and not at a specific parcel or location on the coast. 2351a5e196
