Create a Worksheet with Google Slides

Okay....I know it isn't popular, but we can't swim in the deep end of the pool every day all day! We will still use worksheets in the classroom (gasp!!!) , but how do you get that boring stuff quickly into the cloud for online access? Google Slides, of course!

How to create a worksheet in Google Slides

Pre-work: Scan your worksheet pages using the copier, your phone or by converting with Cloud Convert

Images must be saved as jpeg , png or gif to use as background in Google Sides.

  • Open a new Google Slide
  • Go to file> page setup
  • Change the page to the size needed for your worksheet. Portrait would be 8.5 x 11 inches. Apply.
  • Right click on that slide in navigation panel and duplicate to make as many pages as you will need for your handout.
  • Now click back on the top slide to start work
  • In the slide pane--the big slide you are working on:
      • right click > change background > Choose image > find your picture of the worksheet> open/insert > click done
  • Now your image is "locked" into the background of your Google Slide
  • Repeat for each slide, adding the separate images of your worksheet
  • Once this is done, you can add the text/shape boxes for students to use for responses!
