If the tournament is on the Victory calendar, then there will be a coach there. However if no one fills out the check-in form will not be sending a coach to the tournament. So its Important for you to fill out the Check In Form to each tournament.
Weigh-ins are all relatively the same.
This process is done on your own and will not be led by a coach. So once you are at the weigh-in site, don't wait for a coach; get in line and weigh in.
You must be exactly at or below the weight you registered for.
Bring your USA Wrestling card.
Parents are not always allowed in the weigh-in room. If this is the case, you will need to wait outside the door or in a restricted area.
Your wrestler will weigh in wearing their singlet; therefore, they need to have their singlet on before getting in line to weigh in.
Before they step on the scale, there will be a skin and nail check. In their singlet, the wrestler will be asked to spread their arms and turn to ensure they don't have any skin issues. If your wrestler has a note for skin issues, they will need to show it to the staff at this time. If your wrestler's nails are long, they will be asked to cut them before the staff will let them weigh in.
There can be three different times and/or places where you are able to weigh in, which will be communicated the week of the tournament because every tournament can be slightly different:
Day of weigh-ins: This is where you show up on the day of the tournament to weigh in. There will be a time window for your age division to weigh in, and if you miss this time window, you will not be able to wrestle.
Night before weigh-ins: This is where you drive to the location of the tournament during specific times and weigh in the night before.
Remote weigh-ins: This is where you weigh in either at Victory or another designated weigh-in site. This is done when the tournament is long-distance or for the convenience of the tournament organizers.
USA Wrestling is the national governing body for the sport of amateur wrestling in the United States. It is the organization responsible for overseeing and promoting the sport of wrestling at various levels, from youth and high school to collegiate and international competitions.
A "USA Wrestling #" refers to a unique identification number or membership number assigned to individuals who are members of USA Wrestling, the national governing body for amateur wrestling in the United States. This membership number helps USA Wrestling track and manage its members and provides various benefits, including participation in USA Wrestling-sanctioned events, access to educational resources, and eligibility for certain programs and competitions.
Here's how it works:
Membership Registration: When individuals join USA Wrestling, they are usually required to complete a membership registration process. During this process, they provide personal information, such as their name, contact information, and in some cases, their date of birth.
Membership Number: As part of the registration process, each member is typically assigned a unique membership number. This membership number serves as a reference for the individual within USA Wrestling's database.
Benefits: Members can use their USA Wrestling membership number to register for events, access coaching and officiating programs, and take advantage of educational resources offered by the organization.
Competitions: In wrestling competitions sanctioned by USA Wrestling, participants are often asked to provide their membership number as part of the registration process. This helps ensure that only eligible members compete in USA Wrestling events.
Membership Verification: USA Wrestling and its affiliated organizations can use these membership numbers to verify an individual's membership status when needed.
