1st Grade
Scholars will explore:
The ins and outs of apples
Observing, sorting and dissecting
Buoyance
Use the design process to create, design and test
2nd Grade
The goal of this exploration is:
To foster a community of scholars around a common interest in mathematics.
To expose scholars to math in creative and innovative ways.
To provide scholars with the opportunity to explore their potential as mathematicians.
Scholars will explore:
A variety of math topics that require problem solving and logical thinking.
Hands on math manipulatives to assist in solving challenging math problems that have multiple solutions.
Collaborative problem solving
2nd Grade
In this exploration scholars will:
Plan and carry out an investigation to demonstrate how pushing and pulling on an object affects the motion of an object.
Design a device to change the speed of direction of an object.
Record and analyze data to decide if a design solution works as intended to change the speed or direction of an object with a force (push or pull)
Investigate shapes, their attributes and how they might relate to motion.
Scholars will explore:
Force and motion
The design process
Shapes and their attributes
Energy

Need a few reasons why learning basic Spanish can enrich your scholars? Elementary aged children are essentially sponges when it comes to learning. Essentially, any language can be absorbed easier by children than it can with adults. Learning some basic Spanish can be a cultural connection when students interact with students that may speak the language. Learning the language of a culture is the first step into understanding it better and why people within it do the things they do. For a child, this could be quite an experience.
In this exploration students will explore :
Spanish vocabulary
Singing as a way to learn a new language
Conversational phrases

Without fear, children naturally explore, think, learn, grow, and build a love for learning that lasts a lifetime .Beyond strengthening procedural fluency, the 24 Math Game expands strategic thinking and adaptive reasoning abilities, laying the groundwork for higher-order math skills. Becoming fluent with basic math facts gives students confidence in their problem solving abilities, creating successful, life-long learners.
In this exploration scholars will:
Dive deep into math equations
Look closely at math patterns
Learn how to use multiple operations to solve a problem
Learn strategies for playing the 24 math game.
