Dr. Perkins has co-authored over 30 journal papers in leading journals and graduated 7 PhD students. He has received two of the most prestigious young faculty awards for his research, with approximately $1.6M of external research awards. His background is in nonlinear dynamics, stochastic dynamics, vibrations, and experimental design. Currently, his research interests include oscillator computers, adaptive oscillators, vibrational energy localization, topology optimization, control of flexible/bio-inspired robotics, and music engineering. 

Dr. Li has more than 7 years of experience on dynamics, vibration, electro-mechanical system integration and control algorithms, an MS (from Auburn University) and PhD (from NC state university) degree both in mechanical engineering, almost two years of working experience in relevant industry, accomplished the Mid Atlantic regional I-Corp program. Additionally, I am the co-inventor on the technology, which was developed during my PhD study time at NC state university. Therefore, a clear understanding of future markets and potential customers, a strong desire to commercialize our technology and a solid background in engineering summarizes all my current experience.   

Twenty seven years of Management Consulting experience across Aerospace & Defense, Industrial, Bio-Science, and Financial Markets. Expertise in Strategic Planning and Deployment, Succession Planning,  M&A Due Diligence and Integration, and Organizational Assessment. Global client base with longstanding engagements throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Managed the day-to-day operations of a “trade-ware” startup including the oversight of R&D, Testing, Software Integration and Hiring processes. Graduate of UNC Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler School of Business and Western Ontario University’s Richard Ivey School of Business Accelerating Management Talent Program.
