The office of Anne White MD and Molly Tant C-NP

4/8/2020

Many patients have asked for recommendations regarding who to see for their next primary care clinician. That’s actually a tough question because the doctors in Rome are all well trained, capable physicians as far as I know! Unfortunately, decades ago, when I first came to Rome, that was not necessarily the case.

The clinicians in Rome have personality differences and different modes of practicing medicine. Most Rome clinicians acquire new patients by word of mouth and that seems to be a pretty reliable method. Having said this, this list below is incomplete. I’m waiting on feedback from the third clinician who has unique skills to offer patients! I’m going ahead and listing the clinicians I know the best here: they all are accepting new patients:

Molly Tant NP-C

Molly is excited to announce that she will be continuing her practice at Wellstar Family Practice in Cartersville, GA. For those who wish to drive there, you will receive the same excellent care you are used to from her! She will be seeing patients at this new location starting late June 2020. The doctor she will be working with is Dr. Delgado. He has many years of experience, is board certified in Family Medicine and has a great bedside manner.

“I hope to see you all soon. I am very excited to start this new chapter and would love to see my sweet patient family come join me. If you would like to go ahead and establish, you can call the office and get an appointment with Dr. Delgado and have your records sent there.”

Getting there is easy - just exit right off highway 411/20 BEFORE it merges with Highway 41. This exit is at the Shaw Plant on the Rome side of Cartersville and you will turn right onto Burnt Hickory Road, a four lane road at this intersection. It’s a lovely drive through country until you get to the new office! Burnt Hickory Road changes its name and turns into Douthit Ferry Road. Right where the street name changes, you’ll find Molly! The new office is just past Arby’s and just before the intersection of Douthit Ferry Road and Old Mill Road.

Robert Madden MD - Internal Medicine -

Dr Madden graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School 1979 and did his Internal Medicine residency at Atlanta Medical Center. Again, nice, nice guy and a solid doctor. He is one of the few doctors in town who continued to do hospital work after everyone else stopped. He can manage complex patients easily because of his extensive experience. He's been in Rome a few years longer than I have but has told me he doesn't plan to retire any time soon... like for years. He is oriented toward primary care and doesn't refer everybody out [probably because of all his experience!]. He’s great at explaining things. His staff has been with him mostly for decades which is something I never accomplished! He must be nicer than I am! LOL!

Please note that Dr. Madden is NOT accepting patients who take controlled substances such as hydrocodone, ritalin, etc. If you don’t know what that is, then you likely don’t take a controlled substance!

I do have a third clinician to add here - really great guy - waiting on his approval of my “"blurb"! LOL!

Our new hours are:

9 AM to 1 PM Monday through Friday

Molly will be seeing a few, last minute patients through Friday 4/10/2020

If you come by after 1 PM, you may drop off signed release forms and other paperwork by using our new mail slot located at the main entrance to the office

We realize some of you are having problems leaving voicemail.

Our voicemail holds a max of 30 messages so it fills up quickly

We prefer you use the patient portal if you have one.

Please leave voicemail only if you have no other way to leave a message.

Save the voicemail for our patients with no access to the internet

We cannot release records without a signed release form

You can find a release for records HERE

We will try to attach the records request to our FB page also

If you need refills please have your pharmacy handle refill requests.

This is the most efficient way to handle refills

3/20/2020

To our family of patients:

With a heavy heart, I have to advise you I am closing my medical practice, Valley Health Care, effective 4/21/2020 for personal reasons. I shall not be able to provide medical care after that date. I suggest that you arrange to place yourself under the care of another clinician. If you have no one in mind, I suggest you consider:

  • Molly Tant C-NP [we have a waiting list for patients who wish to “follow” Molly]
  • Monitor FaceBook for updates about the practice and Molly’s plans
  • Your insurance company
  • Georgia Medical Board “Tips on Choosing a Doctor” https://medicalboard.georgia.gov/tips-choosing-doctor

I shall make your records available to the clinician you designate or, if you prefer, to you personally. Since your medical record is confidential, I shall require your written authorization to make it available to another medical office. For this reason, I am posting an authorization form here on our website. Please complete the form and return it to Valley Health Care P.O. Box 842 Rome, GA 30165 along with $6.50 to cover expenses. To print, go to "file" then "print". Takes a few seconds to load for printing so be patient!

I am sorry that I cannot continue as your physician. This has been a very difficult decision for me and many factors have entered into it. The recent death of my sister and my husband’s recent health problems have convinced me that “life is too short”. I extend to you my best wishes for your future health and happiness and ask for your prayers as I embark on this next stage of my personal journey.

Yours very truly,

Anne White MD, MS, FAAFP

REFILLS:

I will be able to refill medications for you through the end of June. Example: your medicine runs out 4/1/2020. You need it filled. I will approve enough to last until the end of June. If you call June 1st, enough medicine will be sent in for one month. After that, my “legal eagles” tell me I have to stay “hands off” in regards to my former patients. If a special situation comes up, please have your pharmacy contact me about this and I will make a decision on a case by case basis. I think ya'll know me well enough to realize I'm not leaving anyone in the lurch! On the other hand, if you are going to transfer to another office & not stay with Molly, you need to start looking now. As you may know, it can take awhile to get in for a new patient appt plus not all doctors are taking new patients.

RECORDS:

We cannot release records without a signed release form. You can find a release for records HERE. The office will closed to the public after 1 PM daily to allow us to handle the mountain of paperwork facing us. If you come by after 1 PM, you may drop off signed release forms and other paperwork by using our new mail slot located at the main entrance to the office

We will provide an electronic copy of your records on a CD. It’s a little more complicated than “pushing a button”. We appreciate you covering the cost of your records. Each copy will be provided for a fee of $6.50. This is to help defray the cost of staff preparing the information. We are required to provide one copy; however, the number of copies doesn't matter to me as long as you help to defray the cost of providing copies. I guess you can get one copy and then make as many as you like. I'm not aware of anything "done" to the software to prevent copying the CD if you want several copies.
