Step 1: Referral
Thank you for taking the time to refer a student. Your observations and input are valuable to the process!
*Students who have been tested in the past are eligible to retest as long as it has been a year or more since the original screening or test date.
Step 2: Screening
A time will be scheduled to administer the Naglieri Nonverbal Abilities screening.
This year, all 3rd graders will be screened in the fall of 2025. All Kindergarteners will be screened in the Spring of 2026.
Step 3: Letters Home
If the student qualifies, a letter will be sent home for permission to test.
If the student does not qualify, a letter will be sent home informing parents that testing has concluded.
Step 4: Testing
Once permission is returned. A time will be scheduled by our Director of Special Services, Mrs. Smith, to administer the WISC-V GIA (General Ability Index). Students must score in the 95th percentile to qualify for ALPHA.
