Investigations (labs, projects, activities, etc.) are 20-100 points each
Daily Lab Grade - 2 pts. per day
Students’ grades will be based on their science notebook, class work, homework, quizzes, tests, webquests, Knowledge Checks, and virtual labs. Students are assessed using a point system. Each assignment is awarded a given number of points. Generally, Knowledge Checks, labs, and projects will be worth the most points. Science notebooks will be collected periodically and will be graded according to these guidelines. Plagiarism of any kind will result in a 0%. Although we will work in groups and collaborate frequently, collaboration on Knowledge Checks and other assessments is not permitted.
If a student is absent, it is their responsibility to make-up the labs and activities that they missed. Students have two days to make up an assignment for each day they were missing. If students do not make up labs when they are absent and there are questions on the Knowledge Check about the lab, they will not be exempted from those questions. Ms. Heckel is happy to assist students who were absent before school and at lunch.
