Course Description: As the premier performance ensemble at Vermilion High School, our selective mixed choir represents the pinnacle of musical excellence. With a repertoire spanning diverse eras and genres, from ethereal motets to soulful spirituals, students in this ensemble embark on a rigorous journey of choral mastery.
They refine their sight-reading skills, delve into complex repertoires, and develop a deep understanding of music theory. Participation includes extra performances, written assignments, and assessments, enriching students' musical knowledge.
In addition to these commitments, students in this ensemble actively participate in the OMEA (Ohio Music Education Association) Large Group Adjudicated Event, showcasing their talents on a broader stage. We also strongly encourage students to take part in Solo and Ensemble activities, fostering individual growth.
Entry into this esteemed ensemble is elective and determined by audition, with its size varying from year to year.
