VUSD Summer School - Middle School Options

Students in grades 6-8 can participate in these offerings:

Small Groups

Students can participate in numerous small group offerings. Please CLCIK HERE to see the list. If you are are interested in signing up for one of these sessions please see the steps below! Please note small groups capacity is limited.

In-person TWI Academy at Anacapa Middle School

TWI Academy at Anacapa will be running a session this summer that is invite only. This is an opportunity for students to continue to enhance Spanish language skills through language, art, and cultural experiences. It will be 8AM-12PM @ Anacapa MS during June Boost. Those who will be included in this group will be invited by the teacher running the program. We ask if you are invited and plan to attend you sign-up on the June Boost Enrollment Form.

Wood Shop Enrichment Class at Cabrillo Middle School

Mr. Lehman is offering students currently enrolled in grades 6 - 8 the opportunity to learn the basics of wood shop at Cabrillo Middle School from 9am-1pm Monday through Friday in person. Students may select Week 1 (June 14 - 18) OR Week 2 (June 21 - 25). Please note this program has limited capacity, we will take a waiting list once we reach it.

8th grade students can also participate in this:

Online Initial Credit Health Class for incoming freshmen

This summer, we will be offering initial credit Health and/or College & Career for our incoming freshmen in an ONLINE ONLY format. Buena and Ventura students who opt to take these courses in summer offerings need to take BOTH classes (Health and College & Career). Foothill Technology students only should take Health (those taking music should work with their FTHS counselor for guidance). During June Boost we will offer online Health. If you would like to take the online option of Health during the June Boost session please sign-up on this form.

***Please note Ventura Unified has partnered with Antelope Valley Learning Academy for our elementary and middle school program, and our high school program has partnered with Vista Real Charter; these names are reflected on the master agreements. ***

In-person Extended School Year is for students whose IEPs mandate an offer of ESY- Special Education will contact eligible students directly with information about signing up. If you have not yet been contacted and feel your student should be included in the program. Planned options for grades 1-8 include in person math camp, theater, wood shop, Mad Science and PlayWell Lego. High school planned options include Career Technical Education opportunities. These sessions will all be for enrichment not credits. We will have an enrollment form soon for sign-ups and will need an emergency card form to enroll your student. Please look for an email soon with sign-up info.
