For Read Across America Day, here are Mr. Browne (as the Fox in Socks) and Tangerine Tommy (as Mr. Knox), rapping Dr. Seuss' classic book.
I showed this video to all of my classes today, but there is more to this fun song. Click to watch the whole song!
Hello, friends! I hope you'll join me every Monday on Zoom. We will have fun singing, chanting, moving, listening, exploring, and learning about all things MUSIC.
Lessons are a half hour long. Plan to log in a few minutes early and test out your sound. (I will have music playing.) Classes will need to stay muted, but I hope you will keep your cameras ON. I love to watch the students participate!
Check here before logging in. I WILL POST ON THIS PAGE IF I HAVE TO CANCEL A CLASS! I will make it big and obvious at the top of the page! Try refreshing this page on your browser occasionally to view updates.
Please use the link below for each zoom class.
Mr. Browne is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Update: I've had several requests from teachers who can't attend live. I will start recording the lessons and posting them in a folder on Google Drive. Please let me know if this is helpful.
I find many of these activities online and would be happy to share my sources. Please email me at paul.browne@venturausd.org
No. We have found over the years that this model of teaching works best with the class participating together, viewing the lesson on a single screen. When students log in from separate devices, student engagement is much lower and misbehavior (i.e. constant use of chat feature and unmuting at inappropriate times) is much more prevalent, making for a worse experience for other classes that have logged in. Therefore, I generally do not allow students to log in individually. Please email me if you would like me to make an exception or if you would like to discuss. Thank you.
Yes. My preference is to see the students participating, but there are many classes who participate week after week without a camera. The more the merrier!
Here are two ideas:
Log in from your laptop or desktop computer and use HDMI cord to connect to the Promethean Board.
Log in from the Zoom App on your board. You will have to manually enter the Meeting ID: 899 8356 7144 and Passcode: time4music. (The links and shortcuts don't seem to work on Promethean.) You can change your device name from Active Panel to your name.
This year I am Zooming from my classroom at Portola Elementary School. Go Panthers!
