The main objectives of the project are the following:
1. Promote a pleasure for reading both in the native language and in the second languages learnt in the educational curriculum of each participating country.
2. To develop teaching techniques which favour the promotion of reading through a process of gamification, that is, by applying the typical design and mechanism of the games (rules, points, rewards, etc.) in an educational context, in order to favour motivation, participation, loyalty and competition.
3. Share good practices and test them in mobility contexts.
4. Encourage the mobility of students and accompanying teachers to develop their cultural knowledge, language practice, social skills and teamwork in international contexts.
5. Work in favour of the inclusion of students with less possibilities, through activities suitable for all types of students regardless of their abilities or cultural background.
6. Develop a sense of belonging to the European Union, fostering respect and acceptance of cultural differences.
7. Develop other aspects that are included in the educational laws of different countries such as critical thinking, autonomous work and public speaking skills.
As concrete results that are intended to be achieved, we can distinguish between tangible and intangible results:
In terms of tangible results, we need to mention the writing and publication of a manual that includes the different techniques designed and implemented during the duration of our project to be applied by other teachers and schools and thus multiply the impact of our project. These techniques will be filmed and uploaded to our YouTube channel, through minivideos or mini-tutorials, with the same sense mentioned,
multiplying the impact so that our learning and research are transferable to other schools and contexts. The designing of posters, displays and charts that decorate the common spaces of our schools and visualize the project itself, as well as the creation of the website, social networks, and brochures related to the project are also tangible final products.
In terms of intangible results we can highlight the promotion of reading for pleasure, the improvement in the level of languages and cultural enrichment of the participants, the professionalization of the teaching staff with the acquisition of new teaching techniques and the modernization and internationalization of the different schools that are going to participate in the project.
The objectives, and therefore the activities, results and final products, are clearly related to the chosen priorities mentioned above, since the project helps develop literacy as the main competence and basic skill, promoting reading comprehension which will help combat education failure and school leaving. One of the main reasons for bad results in education is precisely a bad comprehension level. With our project we will be strengthening our teachers' profiles through research and innovation.
