Welcome to Annie Pennycook Elementary DHH Total Communication, Full Service and Leader in Me School.
SCHOOL MISSION: We Dream, Plan and Achieve by setting academic and personal goals which result in highly effective people.
Our Vision is to have Pennycook Scholars as Learners today working toward becoming Leaders of Tomorrow.
We Value the 7 Habits leading to an increase in student self-confidence, teamwork, initiative, responsibility, creativity, leadership, communication and diversity awareness.
Our Goal is to increase academic performance, teacher engagement and parent involvement, decrease disciplinary issues and improve school culture and attendance.
"As always, working together, Pennycook Scholars are learners today... and leaders tomorrow." - At the end of every all-call or solution oriented situation, parents, students and staff are reminded that working together is an integral part of helping our Pennycook Scholars thrive.
-Habit 6: Synergize
WORTH AND POTENTIAL
"We teach each other how to be a learner today and a leader tomorrow. We focus on what a leader looks like and how you can use your leadership in your everyday life. This is Pennycook Elementary School's 2021 Leader in me Video." This video begins to document our journey from March 13, 2020.

Social-emotional leadership helps build positive mental health in students and staff. This themed piece, "More than Just Fine" is a personal narrative that shares the importance of Social Emotional Wellness and her journey from a Pennycook student to presently, a Pennycook teacher.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Staff and Students are proud to be who they are. Habit 1 teaches that you are in charge of yourself, your thoughts, actions, and words.
-Habit 1: Be Proactive
"Together is Better" Pennycook Scholars work together, celebrate differences and similarities, are open-minded, and find new and better ways to problem solve.
-Habit 6: Synergize
Celebrate with us the many attributes and skills essential to succeeding in the 21st century... "Pennycook Scholars are Learners today and Leaders tomorrow."
Each week of Distance Learning, we have focused on one habit. We talk about it during our weekly meets and give examples of ways we use it in our everyday lives. We discuss our strengths in the habits and areas we are not as skilled at yet. The habit focus is displayed in our weekly to do list, including a link to the Leader in Me website.
This is an example of the writing that we do each week as a wrap up of the Habit.
Thinking Thursday: Our habit focus this week is Habit 6: Synergize. When you synergize, you value other people's strengths and learn from them. You get along well with others, even people that are different from you. You work well in groups. You seek help from others to solve problems, because you remember that together is better.
