HABIT 7: SHARPEN THE SAW encourages you to take care of your brain because a strong mind will help determine your future. Art, poetry, and music use different parts of your brain. Fourth-grade student, Jamad Coleman, recites his poem "I Am A Special Person" in this video as a celebration of his leadership skills.
Paradigms are the way you see the world. How you see your world as a leader affects what you do as a leader. As we change our paradigms, we begin to see things differently. This sixth grade class is an example of how our paradigms can shift as we grow, learn and implement the 7 Habits.
Resiliency is is when the positive can begin to outweigh the negative. Mirakella Nocon shows her resiliency as she gives her perspective on distance learning.
The more you implement the 7 Habits in your life, the more mature you become. The 7 Habits help you mature from dependence, to independence, to interdependence. Sixth grade students reflect on their favorite habits.
Students learn the importance of synergizing to complete a task. They also learn the advantage of making an action plan before beginning the task so that everyone’s ideas are heard and the best solution is chosen.

When students learn from home and we teach remotely, According to Aubrie, the learning tasks we assign are in constant competition with many household distractions. Aubrie how she shares preservers. She completes her work to the best of her ability. She also implements the 7 habits into her daily life.
Create a meaningful opportunity for students to connect with their families, class and school community. Students share poems identifying and celebrating their worth and potential.
Real world application is essential in STEM curriculum. The distance learning students create a blueprint for the hybrid students to follow using Legos and other materials in the classroom. Ultimately, this engineering project requires students to listen. When you SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND you genuinely listen by giving your full attention. You do not interrupt or focus on your response.

This class believes that we don't live in a world all alone. Our brothers and sisters are here, too. This presentation on family traditions celebrates that we are all part of all we have met.
