The goal of the Geometry and Topology Seminar at VCU is to explore new ideas in algebraic geometry, low-dimensional topology, and math physics. The seminar will combine periodic research talks with a concurrent reading group which meets weekly to discuss a featured topic.

Fall 2019 topic: quantum field theory and knot polynomials.

Regular meetings will be held Fridays at 1:00, with an emphasis on the current research interests of the organizers. There will be a contiguous theme week to week.

Special seminars will be held roughly once per month, featuring guest lecturers and visitors who will speak on their current work.
