Welcome!
I am Ms. Gonzalez and I am very happy to be your child's kindergarten teacher this school year. My biggest goal is to create a fun and memorable year for your little one. I aim to guide your child to build a strong foundation in literacy and math so that they will have success in later grade levels. I also aim to give your child the socio-emotional tools they need to navigate the world and interact with others in a positive manner. Finally, I aim to foster curiosity and love for learning! I plan to achieve these goals through a hands on and play based style of learning.

Bienvenidos!
Soy la Srta. Gonzalez y estoy muy feliz de ser la maestra de kinder de su hijo/a este año escolar. Mi gran objetive es crear un año divertido y memorable para tu pequeño/a. Mi objetivo es guiar su hijo/a a construir una base solida en lectura y matemáticas para que tenga éxito en la escuela. También, le quiero dar las herramientas socio-emocionales que su hijo/a necesita para navegar su mundo. Finalmente, mi objetivo es fomentar la curiosidad y el amor por el aprendizaje en su hijo/a. Planeo lograr estos objetivos a traves de un estilo de aprendizaje en el juego y la practica directamente.

About Me
I was born and raised in Escondido. I still reside in Escondido with my two cats (Jasper and Mateo) and dog (Nabi). I graduated from California State University Chico with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies and minor in Spanish. I completed the Multiple Subject with a Bilingual authorization teaching credential program at California State University San Marcos. I earned a Master's Degree in Reading, Language, and Literacy from California State University San Marcos. This year will be my 7th year teaching at Lilac School!
When I am not teaching little minds or prepping fun activities for them, you can find me at a concert. I love everything that comes with the concert culture; planning outfits, finding out the setlist, meeting new people, and of course the live performances! It is my most expensive hobby (lol). Besides going to concerts, I enjoy going on walks and hikes with my dog, Nabi. I am always on the lookout for new trails to explore and hopefully wear out Nabi's energy. Something that I am hoping to do more of is travel the world. I am currently planning a trip to South Korea! I am hoping this planned trip will motivate me to learn the Korean language.

Sobre mi
Nací y crecí en Escondido. Todavía vivo en Escondido con mis dos gatos (Jasper y Mateo) y mi perrita (Nabi). Me gradué de la Universidad Estatal de California Chico con una licenciatura en Estudios Liberales y especialización en español. Completé el programa de Materias Múltiples con autorización de enseñanza bilingüe en la Universidad Estatal de California en San Marcos. Obtuve una Maestría en Lectura, Lenguaje y Alfabetización de la Universidad Estatal de California en San Marcos. ¡Este año será mi séptimo año enseñando en Lilac School!
Cuando no estoy enseñando mentes pequeñas o preparando actividades divertidas para ellos, puedes encontrarme en un concierto. Me encanta todo lo que viene con la cultura de los conciertos; planificar mi ropa, investigar que canciones van a tocar, conocer gente nueva y, por supuesto, ¡la musica en vivo! Es mi pasatiempo más caro. Además de ir a conciertos, disfruto salir a caminar con mi perrita, Nabi. Siempre estoy buscando nuevas rutas para explorar y, con suerte, agotar la energía de Nabi. Algo que espero hacer más es viajar por el mundo. ¡Actualmente estoy planeando un viaje a Corea del Sur! Espero que este viaje planeado me motive a aprender el idioma coreano.
