How does a dual immersion program work in kindergarten?

Our dual immersion program follows the 50/50 model. Which means that 50% of instruction is in English and 50% of the instruction is in Spanish. The way that this will be reflected in the classroom and in our schedule is by alternating the language of instruction of units the units of study. For example, we will begin the school year with the language of instruction for our language arts and social sciences units in English and the language of instruction for our math and science units in Spanish. By the next unit, the language of instruction for each subject will alternate. For example, the language of instruction for Unit 2 of language arts and social science will switch to Spanish and the language of instruction for Unit 2 of math and science will switch to English. 

Nuestro programa de doble inmersión sigue el modelo 50/50. Lo que significa es que 50% de la instrucción es en inglés y 50% de la instrucción es en español. Esto se reflejará en la alternancia del idioma de instrucción de las unidades de estudio. Por ejemplo, comenzaremos el año escolar con el idioma de instrucción para las unidades de la lectura y ciencias sociales en inglés y el idioma de instrucción para las unidades de matemáticas y ciencias en español. Para la siguiente unidad, se alternará el idioma de instrucción de cada asignatura. Por ejemplo, el idioma de instrucción para unidad 2 de lectura y ciencias sociales será español y el idioma de instrucción para unidad 2 de matemáticas y ciencias será inglés.
