Second Grade

October 2018

This month second grade participated in a Weather Image Flood. Students were shown 10 pictures and asked to write what they see (observe) and what they wonder (questions). Then they chose a question they wrote to use to research about their favorite type of weather. This lesson culminated in the library where students were given resources, books and websites, to research the answers to their questions.

In math students completed the 5 problem solving lessons in Nearpod. The lessons, draw a diagram, create a table, organize a list, look for a pattern and guess and check will help students solve word problems. Students will practice using these skills when solving word problems.
