Musicals are an expression of multiple voices, sounds, colors, lights, textures, ideas, all working together to create one unified celebration of life. This production of Mamma Mia! would not have been possible without the collaboration of many driven, selfless individuals.
One such individual is retired Old Donation Middle School Choral Instructor, Delena Poe. Mrs. Poe came to my aid as soon as I sent up the flare. I was running out of time, and details were being passed over with the hope of polishing things up later...holding my breath that later would even be an option. Enter Mrs. Poe. She stepped in and worked character development, cleaned up some of the staging, and helped the students choreograph. She lovingly guided me through the final days of rehearsal, lending her fresh eyes and catching so many little fixes that I had stopped noticing weeks ago.
I am deeply grateful to Mrs. Poe for sharing her time so generously, and I am indebted to the Poe family for sharing such a smart, talented, hard-working human with us over the last few months. I am forever grateful to all of you for helping make our show and our lives better.
