The goal for the PBIS Fundamentals Learning Series is to create a space where staff may access professional learning on demand in order to build consistency and address the challenge of shifting PBIS team membership and school staff, including administrators. Each module will provide a video webinar, resources referenced within the module and an optional google survey form which you may submit for professional learning points. You will be awarded points for the completion of each module. For more information, please contact Karin DiMaggio at 757-263-6986.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a data-informed decision making framework for establishing the social culture and behavioral and academic supports needed for a school to be an effective learning environment for all students.
In Virginia Beach City Public Schools, within the Strategic Action Agenda, the goal of PBIS is to strengthen our practices and implement strategies to equitably support prosocial behavior, high quality learning experiences and social emotional development.
The PBIS multi-tiered framework provides academic, behavioral and social emotional support within the school environment. Building Tier 1 support is the core of the process that applies to all students, all staff, and all settings.
