Since our Unit's Commissioning in 1968, "Cavalier Company" has strived for excellence and to embody our Navy's core values of "Honor, Courage, Commitment". Princess Anne and Bayside High School’s Naval Junior ROTC program is an award winning, distinguished unit. Located in Virginia Beach, PAHS NJROTC performs and ranks among the top Junior ROTC schools in Area 5.
Our mission is to instill Leadership, Character, Honor, and Service in cadets.
Our vision is to develop disciplined, resilient and collaborative culture forges servant leaders committed to excellence and serving others. Cadets use these attributes not only in high school, but once they have graduated high school and go into the work force.
Our overall goal is to ensure that all Cadets have a well developed plan to enter the skilled labor force after high school. Entry into the skilled labor force requires some level of advanced education which could include on-the-job training (OJT), formal classroom education from a college or trade school or military training. Contrary to popular belief, Cadets are NOT required to join the military, although around 45% of them end up doing so. The instructors focus on helping Cadet realize their individual dreams through mentorship and proper planning. Follow this link to access the Life After Graduation Planning Tool.
The four courses are Naval Science I, Naval Science II, Naval Science III, and Naval Science IV. Our NJROTC consists of seven teams, which compete regionally and nationally against other schools;

We are proud of our extremely supportive school and community, and strive to stay active in school and community service projects.
