About Me

My name is Brian Miller and I will be your Core and Advance science teacher. I begin my twenty-seventh year of teaching, all in Virginia Beach, the last seventeen of which have been right here at Corporate Landing. I have taught third grade for six years and fifth grade for three years before coming to Corporate Landing in 2000. Before moving to Virginia Beach I went to Indiana University and graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Education.

My wife, Kelly, is the Coordinator of Library Services in the Department of Teaching and Learning and has been with the school system for eighteen years. I have three children, all of whom are girls. One is a freshman at Virginia Tech University, one is a senior at Virginia Tech University and one graduated from Landstown High School in 2012. I have one cat and her name is Snickers.

At CLMS I run the sand sculpting team and the Rube Goldberg club. I am also the coach of the girls’ basketball team, wrestling team, and the track team. I feel extracurricular activities are not only important but can be beneficial to children in teaching aspects of responsibility and maturity. I encourage you to get involved in extracurricular activities and in your school.
