In the AVID elective class, students engage with community service projects and activities as apart of their AVID requirements. The AVID elective teacher will offer community service projects in class and after school. They will also communicate home these different opportunities.Students are encouraged to complete self-chosen community service projects outside of school as well. Below is the community service log that will be utilized by students all four quarters of school. The requirements are as follows: 6th grade-2 hours, 7th grade-4 hours, and 8th grade-6 hours. 

Students are encourage to complete more hours than the minimum requirement. Extra credit will be given to students who send pictures of them engaging in their community service to the AVID elective teacher.
