AVID = Advancement Via Individual Determination
AVID is a grade 6-12 system designed to support students whose goal is to attend and graduate from a four-year university and who would like and/or need assistance in building a strong academic resume.
AVID is a system for “middle to upper middle” academic performing students. These students have the potential for advanced/ honors and AP work in middle and high school but would like academic and emotional support paired with the rigor to be more successful in those classes.
AVID combines rigor with support that includes the students’ own individual determination and the support of teachers, other AVID students and their families, the AVID teacher, and university tutors.
