Class Participation
Participation in a chorus class means that the student will be seated and ready to sing when instructed. The student will not engage in conversation unless directed to do so. Points will be taken off of the participation grade when the student does not have his/her supplies, music, talks excessively or is out of his/her assigned seat. Students may NOT use electronic devices other than their Chromebook. No cellphones.
Concerts
Chorus is a performance based class; therefore it is important that the student be present and on time for any chorus concerts and dressed in the appropriate attire. Appropriate attire must comply with the school's dress code. For concerts, students are to wear black trousers or knee length skirts and their IMS Chorus polo shirts (no sneakers). The student shall remain at the concert for the duration of the program. If a student misses a concert, it is to the teacher’s discretion whether to allow a make-up assignment. If one is allowed, the assignment would be a typed 2 to 3 page biography on a composer.
