Hampton Roads Student Gallery

​For over 30 years Student Gallery has provided students in 11th and 12th grade the opportunity to exhibit their artwork in leading museums and institutions in the Hampton Roads Region of Virginia. Students participate annually through teacher and school administrator solicitation. 

Student Gallery significantly impacts schools and communities throughout the Hampton Roads region. A panel of knowledgeable art professionals is hired to act as unbiased jurors to review student work. These experts select 6 student Finalists and 20 Honorees whose work receives placement in Hampton Roads art institutions, including the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk and the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art in Virginia Beach.

A true community partnership, the project brings fine arts administrators and teachers from the public school districts, as well as leaders and volunteers from museums and art centers, together to produce Student Gallery. The art show provides one-of-a-kind, teachable moments for both art practitioners and students and is the premier regional High School Art Show for Hampton Roads schools. 

HRSG 2025 Dates

Artwork Submission: 

Hampton Roads Student Gallery 2025 invites 11th and 12th-grade students from across Hampton Roads to submit one work of art to our regional student art show. This year, we are requiring Digital Submissions AND In-Person Artwork Drop-off.  

Artwork Registration:

Friday, January 24, 2025, 10:30 am.- 1:30 pm.

Saturday, January 25, 9:30 am.-11:30 am. 

Portfolio Review (optional):

Friday, January 24, 2025, 10:30 am. -1:30 pm.

Saturday, January 25, 2025, 11:00 am.- 2:00 pm.

Makeup Drop off Date to submit work is Wednesday, January 29th at 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm 

Physical Artworks should be dropped off at the 

Tidewater Community College/City of Virginia Beach Joint-Use Library-

1700 College Crescent, Bldg. L, Virginia Beach, VA 23453 

Make up - art drop time: Wed. Jan 29th 2:00 pm. - 6:00 pm.

HRSG Exhibition opens on Saturday, January 25th at 12:00 pm.

HRSG continues for 2 weeks: open to the public during TCC JUL Library hours. Hours can be found here.

Awards Reception & Takedown: Saturday, February 8, 10:00 am.–12:00 pm. 

ALL entries must be picked up on this day from the Tidewater Community College/City of Virginia Beach Joint-Use Library (1700 College Crescent, Bldg. L, Virginia Beach, VA 23453).
