Our field trip date has been set for________. We will be leaving Cox High School parking lot at 6:30 am. You should be in the front parking lot no later than 6:15am so that you can be checked in and board your bus. We should arrive in Washington no later than 10:00 and begin our day at the Jefferson Memorial. We will take a group picture on steps of Jefferson before continuing our walking tour to the FDR, MLK, Korean War, Lincoln, Vietnam, and WWII Memorials. From there, we will make our way over to the Smithsonian Museum. (Either the National Museum of African American History or the Museum of American History). We will enjoy lunch from a street vendor on the lawn or from the museum cafe. The bus will pick us up near the museum at 4:30 for the trip home. We will make a dinner stop in Fredericksburg. We should arrive back at Cox High around 9:30pm. (note that itinerary may change due to weather, traffic, etc.)
Cost for each student is ________. Students may pay using School Cash online (it is linked to their account), check to Cox HS, or with cash. Students also need to bring money for food and spending money plus an extra dollar for bus driver gratuity (not included in the ______). Payment AND permission slips must be turned in BEFORE you are considered to be enrolled on the trip. This is a “first come, first go” deal so do not wait to get your payment and permission slips turned in. No refunds will be given after the deadline of __________.
Students are reminded that this is a school function and their behavior should remain appropriate as well as their dress.
A student’s eligibility to participate will depend on the following:
-If a student has had ISS during this school year, is failing or in danger of failing, or has excessive absences, participation will be at the Government teacher's discretion.
-If a student has had OSS during this school year, they are not eligible to participate in this field trip.
Senior Support Fund: We have seniors whose families are in financial hardship and cannot afford this trip. A fund has been established to allow as many of these students as possible to participate in the trip. If you would like to make a donation to this fund, please do so by using the QR code below.
Please let your Government teacher know if your family is in need of financial help with this trip.

Enjoy the day with your friends seeing iconic sites in DC as well as visiting the African American History Museum! You don't want to miss out on this annual Cox Senior tradition!
