The Adult Learning Center is pleased to be able to offer access to the Northstar Online Learning platform to students enrolled in one of our Adult Education classes.
What is Northstar Online Learning?
Northstar Online Learning (NSOL) is a collection of self-guided, self-paced, online courses where students can learn digital skills in the following areas of study.
Basic Computer Skills
Internet Basics
Email Etiquette
Microsoft Word
Career Search Skills
NSOL provides original online content that students can access independently. When students complete an assessment, they are automatically directed to the NSOL content corresponding to what they still need to learn. Northstar locations such as the Adult Learning Center can create student accounts that track the work completed in NSOL.
What about the assessments? What are they?
Test takers can receive certificates and digital badges when they pass assessments in our proctored environment. Student result pages link to learning resources in NSOL for skill areas needing work. Once students pass Northstar, which certifies basic skills, they are qualified to pursue more advanced training, certifications, or career pathways elsewhere.
How can I access Northstar?
Access to Northstar is limited to students enrolled in one of our Adult Education Classes. Ask your teacher for information on how to get started.
