Bio
Dr. Seong is an enthusiastic and dedicated instructor currently serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor, teaching Korean language at Vassar College. With her native fluency in Korean and extensive knowledge of linguistics, her commitment to excellence in teaching, coupled with her genuine passion for sharing the Korean language and culture, positions her as a valuable resource for students aspiring to achieve proficiency in Korean.
Beyond the classroom, she is actively engaged in linguistic research, with a particular focus on topics such as phonological development and the impact of foreign language experience. Her research centers around areas such as phonology acquisition, L2 language acquisition, and language pedagogy. This in-depth understanding of language acquisition intricacies equips her with effective teaching methodologies that cater to the specific needs of her students.
