There are five categories to choose from, but you can only select one enrichment session from one category.
You can choose one of the following:
Archaeology
You will explore the subject of Archaeology, where it came from & why it matters in the modern world. You will also be able to explore study & career opportunities in Archaeology & Heritage & get specific help with taking the subject further.
Aspire (Humanities)
If you love learning and have ambitions of studying a humanities subject at a top university then this group offers support and information to students who have the ability to flourish on academically challenging undergraduate courses.
Aspire (STEM)
If you love learning and have ambitions of studying Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths subjects at a top university, then this group offers support and information to students who have the ability to flourish on academically challenging undergraduate courses.
Aspire (MED/VET/DENT)
Specialist support for students applying for medicine, dentistry and veterinary science higher education courses. Listen to speakers, focus on writing personal statements, gain support for the BMAT/ UKCAT exams, plus 1:1 interviews to help with UCAS applications.
Code 'n' Cake
Enter coding competitions and work on small projects, such as programming Raspberry Pi computers. This year students entered the Astro-Pi and Bebras competitions. This extra-curricular project looks great on a personal statement when applying to study Computer Science at university. It is also a drop-in support club for Computer Science students who need help with homework / classwork.
Dance Audition Toolkit
This enrichment is specifically for year 2 students who are applying to study dance at Higher Education level. The audition process for dance conservatoires and universities is tough and competitive, this enrichment will provide students with audition technique tools and an environment to create audition material with feedback and support, readying them for the audition process.
Employability Skills Qualification
On this course, you will develop your employability skills such as leadership, communication, and teamwork and will cover the following areas:

Film Careers
For Filmmakers, Writers, Actors and Artists. Screen Careers is a group for students who are passionate about Film, and interested in pursuing a Career in the area. Sessions will aim to develop ideas for Short Films and connect teams to execute Short Films, with the goal of entering those films in Festivals. This could mean Camera Operation, Costume Design, Acting or various other on-set or broader Film Industry roles.
GCSE Maths Extra!
For GCSE Foundation students: Are you aiming for a grade 4 or 5 in your GCSE Maths Exams? If yes, this is the enrichment for you ! This enrichment is all about helping to push you over the line from grade 3 into grade 4. We will concentrate on grade 4 and grade 5 topics to increase your confidence in tackling the harder problems in your GCSE papers, supporting you to gain this vital qualification and get you on your way to the university course or apprenticeship or job that you are aspiring towards.
Hidden Histories
Students will challenge their perceived ideas of history. Learn to be critical of where they often learn their history, and why some histories are less
covered.
Latin For Beginners
Latin Language for beginners aims at providing students with the tools for an appreciation and understanding of the Latin language with a special emphasis on etymology and meta-linguistic (grammar) reflections that can be applied to English and other MFL. As well as being an important complement in the formation of Classicists, Latin opens up direct access to sources for aspiring Historians, and addresses the foundation of essential Law and Medicine specialised vocabulary. Despite its old reputation as ‘elite subject’, Latin language through renewed pedagogy is now engaging and multi-code, ensuring accessibility to all, and a valuable vehicle for the building of cultural capital.
Lit Crit
Extension class in literature through the study of unseen poetry and prose. This class underpins unseen papers in English Language and Literature and English Literature A Levels.
New Perspectives in Chemistry
Take part in this enrichment to learn about careers / study skills / university pathways / research tasks.
STEM Biology Enrichment
You will explore a variety of topics, linking Biology to the real world and extending knowledge beyond the specification
STEP/MAT Preparation
This enrichment opportunity will allow students to engage with interesting, challenging mathematics, to stretch themselves and to develop the mathematical reasoning, independence and confidence needed in an undergraduate mathematics degree. Students planning to apply to Oxbridge and Russell group universities will be supported with MAT/STEP/TMUA preparation. They will gain a deeper understanding of the history of Mathematics, explore mathematical concepts beyond the curriculum, and understand how mathematics can be applied in careers and industry.
Studying Short Films
On the ' Studying Short Films ' enrichment you will be watching , exploring and analysing short films old and new from a wide range of genres , styles and countries. This will help support any subjects with film or visual analysis as well as widening your understanding and appreciation of film form and narrative
