Sustainability at Varndean College

The emerging climate crisis has stressed the importance of planning ahead for the future, not only to safeguard the health and well-being of the planet but also the many different varieties of life that are supported by Earth's diverse natural habitats.

In light of the many challenges we face, it has become increasingly urgent that we as a college promote the necessary awareness and education for the next generation so they can be better equipped to mitigate the worst impacts of climate change and set us on a path towards a more sustainable future.

From our Decarbonisation Plan to our Net Zero Initiatives, we have plans and policies in place to help reduce the College’s environmental impact in a wide variety of ways as shown below.
