LPP: LOVE, PASSION, PERSEVERANCE
Who’s down with LPP? Yeah you know G!
LPP is a mantra/motto providing a roadmap to success and true joy. Joy is eternal and long lasting and not temporary like happiness. LPP might not be everyone's success model to follow, but it certainly is mine and has helped me overcome devastating challenges and become who I am and want to be. I am far from perfect, but LPP keeps me centered, repenting daily and wanting to become and do better! As we follow this mantra, it can help us to truly succeed and find joy!
Love God, family, others, self
Passion not preference (when we are passionate, we work hard which is a must)
Perseverance with determination
Love is the center and purpose of all things. Love is the most important component of LPP which is why it is first. Love is the why, what, and how of everything that I/we do. Love is the healing balm that our universe needs starting with each of us. This includes love for
Love ultimately defines us and drives what we are passionate about.
Passion is not mandated or required of us. Passion is not a preference. Passion is what we breathe for. What we care most about. Why do we get out of bed in the morning? What drives us? What change do we want to make on the world? What matters most to us? When we are passionate about something, it drives how hard we work and how devoted we are. We can’t accomplish our goals, hopes, and dreams without working hard and when we are passionate, it’s not work! Passion drives our determination to persevere through anything that comes.
P for perseverance (with determination)
It’s not a matter of IF life knocks us down, but WHEN. And then when will it happen again? As we strive to NEVER STOP TRI-ing and Never give up, we can overcome any challenge that we face! We must strive to be humble and know when to ask for help and be willing to accept that help! I believe adversity and the refining process that those challenges and struggles give us, are what shape us to become who we need to become to progress. It’s not about how many times we fall, but what we do and become when we are down so we can get back. We must never quit! When we are determined enough and ask for help when necessary, we can persevere through anything!
As we become determined enough to persevere each time challenges come our way, it leads us back to that connection with love and starting all over again. LPP is never ending because our goal of success and joy is never ending.
LPP starts and ends with love. Love is everything. Love leads us to specific passions that we focus on. Love and passion drive us to have determination to persevere through anything that comes our way. That’s how we succeed and have eternal joy. Success is not in an outcome, it’s in our effort to become. Joy does not come from success or achievements. It doesn’t come from earning something. Joy comes from knowing who we are and what we want to become!
What are we are doing to change to succeed and find joy daily by letting love guide us to be passionate enough to persevere?

I’ve been asked about and wanted to document more about LPP.
Love, Passion, Perseverance (LPP). Not just a catchy phrase or acronym. Not just the title of my book. Not just my philosophy for counseling, coaching, mentoring, ministering. Not just how I want to love and help my family. Not just my motivation for suicide prevention, triathlons and fitness. Not just my program mantra. Yes all of that. But bigger and more importantly, it’s my mantra for life. Not just big picture, but each day! It’s who I want to be! LPP is ultimately about helping others and myself to truly have joy (which is eternal) and not just short lived happy moments.
Every morning when I wake up to push the alarm, or these days when my puppy Ruby is barking her head off and wakes me up, I see my peace prayer rock which reminds me to first hit my knees and thank the Lord for all my blessings and be grateful for peace. 2nd, I see LPP and begin asking myself how to better LPP that day. The funny thing is, that even though it’s my centerpiece for life and every area of it, I struggle with these things probably more than most. I am far from perfect. I fail often. But I repent and refocus my efforts.
LPP isn’t about accomplishment or results. It’s about processing and becoming. It’s NOT about perfection or excelling. It’s about effort and progress. LPP isn’t about guilt or manipulation, it’s about charity, integrity, and altruism. LPP doesn’t encompass everything that I believe in, but it’s a good foundation. LPP doesn’t solve all my problems, but it helps and I want to use it to help others!
