OCTOBER 2025
Administration Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we begin this new month, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership and support. The success of our students is truly a team effort, and we value the important role you play in helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
This month, our focus is on working together to build a positive school culture, Gladiators Stand Together and Rise Together. When families and schools unite with a shared purpose, students thrive. We encourage you to stay connected by attending upcoming events, checking in daily with your child about their learning, and reinforcing the importance of respect, responsibility, and perseverance at home.
Please keep an eye out for important dates and announcements included in this newsletter. Together, we will ensure that every student has the tools they need to succeed.
Thank you for trusting us with your children. Let’s continue to stand together and rise together as one school community.
Announcements
For the safety of all our students, staff, and families, we kindly remind you to drive slowly and remain off your cell phones while in the school zone. Your full attention and caution help ensure a safe environment for everyone during busy drop-off and pick-up times.
Thank you for putting safety first!
Celebrations
This month, our Gladiator teachers and students came together to show their incredible school spirit. Homecoming Week was a huge success, our Seniors celebrated their memorable Sunset, and our Volleyball team continues to dominate the season, remaining undefeated. We are truly proud to be part of Beethoven ECHS!
Gladiator Art
Artist Statement
Self-portraits serve as more than just an artistic exercise, they are a powerful tool for reflection, identity, and connection. Here at Beethoven Secondary under the direction of Mr. D. Cortez, self-portraits serve as way to encourage students to look inward, to recognize their individuality, and to express their voices visually. Beyond technical skill, this practice nurtures self-awareness and confidence, while also fostering empathy among peers as they encounter the diverse perspectives of their classmates. By sharing these portraits in a collective space, students help shape a visual dialogue about identity, belonging, and the importance of seeing ourselves and others with honesty and respect.

Gladiator Band
We are proud to announce that two of our outstanding students will be performing with the Region’s Top Symphony Orchestra, where they will have the opportunity to learn from world-class clinicians. A special congratulations goes to them for advancing to the Area Round of the TMEA All-State Auditions!
These young men are among the best 6A/5A musicians in our area.
Gladiators in Action
Criminal Justice students visit Weslaco Crime Lab, help each other with their resumes and show appreciation to our security guards.
Gladiators FCA
Every Friday, our Gladiators come together in the library for FCA, lifting one another up through faith and sharing the Word. This month, our “See You at the Pole” event was a tremendous success, congratulations to all who participated and helped make it meaningful.
