College Access Presentations

College Access: General Presentation for Seniors

This presentation will be shared wiith BHS seniors during their English class throughout the month of October. This slide show is a 30 minute presentation. Since it's so short, I've treated as an introduction focused on the process of applying for colleges with information about college selection, the FAFSA, state aid opportunities, and stacking credentials into a 4-year degree.

Almost every student in Belleville can attend some form of college tuition free, this is supposed to aid students as they navigate life post-high school and show them some of their options. The next slideshow in this series will be focused on reviewing financial aid offers after applying.

Scholarships & Grants

Following Michigan College Month, this Scholarships and Grants presentation will be shared with BHS seniors. This slide is focused on connecting seniors with scholarship resources, helping them assess which sources are worth investing time into, and building a folder with materials to stay organized. 

Grants are mentioned as well but, due to the nature of grants primarily being needs-based, scholarships are the central topic.
