Welcome to 7th grade Science!!

It is hard to believe we are now in the 2nd Quarter!!

TEKS we will be covering in  Unit 2: Force and Motion:

7.7A Calculating average speed using distance and time measurements from investigations

7.7B Distinguish between speed and velocity in linear motion in terms of distance, displacement and direction.

7.7C Measure, Record and Interpret an objects motion using distance time graphs

7.7D Analyze the effect of balanced and unbalanced forces on the state of motion of an object using Newton's 1st Law of Motion.

We began last week with some races to observe and collect data.  We then graphed our data.  The students are learning how to calculate speed using data and a graph.  

We will have our first quiz on Tuesday Oct. 21st over calculating speed.  Today we had several students go to the board and write out and explain the process of calculating speed.
