ELA - 1  English and Language Arts

Next week we will continue building on our plot study.  Students will be analyzing how the plot, conflict, and resolution of a story helps the reader get to a theme.  We are looking to finish the book next week and then move to writing our theme essay.  They are just getting to the big conflicts in this story so this week we will review plot elements and how this helps the reader understand the theme.  Students are writing short constructed responses each week over what we are learning as well.  Their grades will be in google classroom for these and also in skyward.  These will be test grades.  We are also spiraling in other learning objectives in their bell ringers which will be graded.
