Van Alstyne ISD Pre-K Enrollment
ONLINE ENROLLMENT OPENS April 7, 2026
We’re excited to offer a high-quality Pre-Kindergarten program at VAISD!
The State of Texas provides FREE Pre-K to eligible students to support early childhood development and prepare them for success in kindergarten and beyond.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, your child must:
Be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2026
Students must reside within the boundaries of Van Alstyne ISD to be eligible for enrollment.
Meet at least ONE of the following:
Economically disadvantaged (eligible for free/reduced lunch)
Child of a Van Alstyne ISD Classroom Teacher
Unable to speak or comprehend English
Homeless (as defined by federal law)
In or previously in foster care
Parent is on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces (including TX National Guard)
Parent injured or killed in the line of duty while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces
Parent/guardian received the Star of Texas Award (peace officer, firefighter, EMS)
What You Need
If your child qualifies, please submit required documentation such as:
Proof of income
Military service records
Foster care documentation
Other qualifying paperwork
You will be able to upload these document to your Skyward Family access account with the exception of the Military service records.
Important Information
VAISD does NOT offer a tuition-based Pre-K program
Enrollment is for qualifying students only
Transportation Information
Transportation is NOT provided for Pre-K students at any campus.
Families are responsible for providing daily transportation to and from school.
