Semester tests are student's final opportunity to reassess a standard(s).
Students may elect to reassess any standard.
Students must take a semester test if they are failing the course (have any 0's or 1's).
Some standards are assessed multiple times. To determine a "final" score for a standard teachers can elect to use the average of all the scores for that standard, the median of all scores, or another measure such as mode (the proficiency level that appears most often). Teachers may also use the most recent level of proficiency. Ken O'Connor in A Repair Kit for Grading recommends the following formula:
