Mission of STEAM

Interdisciplinary and applied approach to learning where rigorous academic concepts are coupled with real-world, problem based learning.

VVUSD STEAM believes VAPA education, either through teaching basic art foundations skills or using an artistic approach to solving a problem, is a critical component of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation.
VVUSD STEAM will create a culture of engineering for all students that emphasizes ingenuity, creativity, and innovation.
VVUSD STEAM, although it can contain as part of its program, is NOT an isolated class, project, or subject but an educational approach with multiple programmatic components including the integration of the arts as an approach to teaching all content areas.
VVUSD STEAM education recognizes that gender and racial/ethnic gaps exist in STEM fields and address these issues through strategic programmatic design.
