In Val Verde USD, we have taken key elements of RTI2, PBIS, Social-Emotional Learning, and our current practices and integrated them into VVUSD MTSS establishing 5 essential components for best practice. These key elements include empowering culture through a family, school, and community partnership, evidence based practices for curriculum, instruction, and assessment, professional learning communities, data informed continuous problem-solving, and layered continuum of supports. When we integrate these 5 essential components of MTSS we create a system of supports that can result in real and measurable improvements for all the students we serve.
