Classified Salary Schedules
Non-CalPERS members are typically employees:
*who are employed as a substitute employee, or
*who work less than 4 hours per day and/or have no prior membership in any California public retirement system, and/or are not eligible for reciprocity with another California public retirement system.
CalPERS "Classic" Members
Classic Members are employees who obtained CalPERS membership prior to January 1, 2013.
CalPERS "New" Members
"New" members are employees who were brought into CalPERS membership for the first time on or after January 1, 2013, and/or are rehired by a different CalPERS employer after a break in service of greater than six months, and/or have no prior membership in any California public retirement system, and/or are not eligible for reciprocity with another California public retirement system.
