It has been said that the Val Verde Unified School District is “Beating the Odds.” That is, we are demolishing the stereotype that demographics predict student achievement. We have AVID TK-12 with 2 schools being national AVID Demonstration Sites. Two of our Middle Schools are 2023 Schools To Watch. I am also very proud of the five California Distinguished Schools and the twelve Title 1 Academic Achieving Schools. We continue to lead the state in FASFA completion year after year. This recognition is validation of our continuing commitment to quality education.
We are continuing to focus on improving student achievement across the grades with a target of closing the academic gaps that are present. An additional area of focus have been improving upon is the graduation rate and reducing the dropout rate. Currently, our graduation rate is 96.3% (among the highest in Riverside County).
Val Verde Unified is committed to improving experiences, learning outcomes for all learners within our educational system. While we are excited by our current status, we are not satisfied. We know there is much work that remains. But we are confident that our collective spirit of continuous improvement and our culture will lead us to a brighter future- one where all our students will be College and Career Ready AND Future Ready!
