During Sophomore year, the counseling department will focus on helping you discover your interests and skills and finding a career that interests you most. You will also learn more about college/university systems and college testing requirements. Do not be afraid to ask questions. Your school counselor can help you find the answers that you need.

During the second semester, every ninth-grade student will meet with their counselor for a comprehensive academic planning session. These meetings will cover graduation requirements, community service opportunities, and potential career paths. Additionally, students will update their four-year plans to ensure their coursework provides appropriate academic rigor—such as AP, Honors, or CTE pathways—aligned with their long-term career goals. We encourage students to arrive with any questions they may have regarding their academic journey.
