Final Project
Analyzed Landsat 8 OLI imagery in the aftermath of Hurricane Laura making landfall along the western Louisiana coast near Cameron, LA. Visible imagery along with unsupervised, supervised, and NDVI images using the visible, near-infrared, and shortwave bands. The unsupervised classification let the computer classify the image into multiple classes. Supervised classification was carried out by taking test samples of each class required (water, and vegetation) and based classification on each unique spectral curve. NDVI or normalized difference vegetation index is based on the ratio between near-IR and red light. All images were created using MultiSpec software.
